Sinopse

Em Nova York, Johnny (Al Pacino), um ex-presidiário, vai trabalhar como cozinheiro em uma lanchonete onde Cora (Kate Nelligan), uma garçonete, se interessa por ele. Apesar dele ter um certo envolvimento com ela, está na verdade sentindo atração por outra garçonete, Frankie (Michelle Pfeiffer), que não lhe corresponde, evitando qualquer envolvimento mais íntimo.
