Sinopse

O jornalista Philip Schuyler Green (Gregory Peck) é convidado pela revista para a qual trabalha para escrever uma matéria sobre o anti-semitismo. Inicialmente sem saber como abordar o tema, ele resolve se mudar para Nova York e se fazer passar por um judeu, para descobrir quais os reais sentimentos das pessoas a respeito do assunto. Logo ele sente o preconceito e aprende o significado de ser judeu.
